What Can I Expect on Sunday Mornings?
As you come from the parking lot into our Gathering Area, near the Sanctuary, you will be greeted by a member of our Welcome Team, who will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have about our church.
From Memorial Day through the week following Labor Day, there is one worship service at 10:00 AM.
Summertime worship is a relaxed atmosphere with a blend of traditional hymns and liturgy alongside modern worship.
There are activity packets for children, as well as a special children’s message in the beginning of the service, after which children are invited to remain in worship with their parents.
Following worship, all are invited for refreshments and fellowship on the front lawn.
During the school year, there are two different worship settings on Sunday:
If you come to the 9:30 Crossroads Service…
At one time or another we are all at a crossroads in our life. This informal service meets in the sanctuary and features praise music and preaching. Participants are encouraged to bring their Bible with them as we examine God’s Word for our lives. Sunday School children are part of the service for the opening worship, and then exit to their classrooms with their teachers, and Nursery care is provided. The sacraments of baptism and communion are also celebrated in this service.
If you come to the 11:00 Classic Service…
This service meets in the sanctuary, and reflects and honors the Church’s and our Wesleyan traditions in liturgy and style. Featuring hymns on the organ and piano along with one of our choirs, this service hints at the formality and reverence of worship. Celebrating the Eucharist and Holy Baptism are centerpieces of this setting. Nursery care and activities for younger children take place in our Education Wing during the service.
There is handicap seating available for wheelchairs. Please ask our Welcome Team members for assistance, and they will guide you.
On the first Sunday of the month, we offer Holy Communion, which is open to all people, regardless of whether you are a member of our church, or any church. Directions for communion are given by the Pastor during the service.
Visitors are encouraged to fill out a Connection Card, located in your pew or at the Welcome Center. Our Connection Card gives us an opportunity to learn a little more about you and will help us to better keep you connected to happenings at the church.
After the service, you are invited to join us for coffee, snacks, and fellowship. Our Pastors, as well as members of our Welcome Team are available to answer any questions you may have. There is also an Events Table across from the Sanctuary where you can learn about the various Events and Mission Opportunities that Grace UMC has to offer.
If you have any questions prior to attending our worship service, feel free to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, and your question will be answered by one of our staff.
